London, capital city of the United Kingdom was the third station of the traveling gallery of Libyan antiquities and arts “The desert is not silent”.
On July 23rd, 2002, His Excellency Saif Al Islam Al Qadhafi, President of the Gaddafi International Foundation for Charitable Associations presided over the opening ceremony of the exhibition at Marquee –East Lawn, Albert Memorial Gardens - Hyde Park in London.
Were present at the opening ceremony, His Honorable the Oldest Member of the British parliament, H.E. Oliver Miles, President of the Society for Libyan Studies, H.E. Cheikh Abdallah Ben Zaid, Minister of Communication of the United Arab Emirates, number of Ambassadors accredited in London, artists and journalists.
“The desert is not silent” stayed in London from 23 July to 6 August 2002 and attracted more than 29 000 visitors
