"El desierto no es silente", Madrid Exhibition From Vienna, “The desert is not silent”, The itinerant gallery of Libyan Antiquities and Arts, went to Madrid, Kingdom of Spain, a country of art lovers.
On December 2nd, 2004, His Majesty JUAN CARLOS, King of Spain and His Excellency SAIF AL ISLAM AL QADHAFI, President of the Gaddafi International Foundation for Charitable Associations, have presided over the opening ceremony of “El desierto no es silente – The desert is not Silent” at the Madrid Royal Botanical Garden. The opening ceremony was attended by more than 500 invitees, including several Spanish members of Government, parliamentarians and leaders of various political parties, important economic and cultural personalities.
“El desierto no es silente – The desert is not Silent” stayed in Madrid from December 2nd, 2004 till January 10th, 2005, and attracted more than 35 000 visitors, most of them been facinated by canvases painted by H.E. Saif Al Islam.
