Exhibition in Rome, “El desierto non č silente”
After London, “The desert is not silent” went to Rome, one of the richest cultural cities in the world.
On 24 September 2002, H.E. JULIANO ORBAN, Italian Minister for Cultural Assets and Activities, and H.E. SAIF AL ISLAM AL QADHAFI, President of the Gaddafi International Foundation for Charitable Associations, presided over the opening ceremony of “El desierto non č silente – The desert is not silent” at the Museo Nazionale di Castel Sant-Angelo in Rome, capital city of Italia.
This important ceremony mobilized VIPs such as H.E. Maximo Dalema, former Italian Prime Minister, H.E. Lamberto Dini, former Minister of Foreign affairs, a panel of diplomats accredited in Rome, professors of universities, representatives of Italian artistic associations, journalists and art lovers.
During his opening address, Mr. Juliano Orban said that: “The desert is not silent gave an opportunity to Italians to discover what they don’t know about Libya. This exhibition, he continued, testifies that the desert is alive.”
“The desert is not silent”, qualified by media as one of the most popular cultural events of the end of the year in Italia, stayed in Rome from 24 September to 7 October 2002, and was visited by more than 30 000 persons. |
